Logistics
Logistics means the art and science of obtaining, producing, and distributing material and product in the proper place and in proper quantities. The concept is used in logic, management science and in the military field. The concept is especially used about the calculations that must be undertaken in order to optimize a military operation or delivery of goods.
In Library and Information Science (LIS) has this concept been used about optimizing the performances of libraries, e.g. calculate the number of copies needed, calculate time for circulation of books and other parameters such as prices and needs.
