Similar to other universities in Denmark, RSLIS is a higher
education institution pursuing research and doing research based
teaching. The School's research budget is approx. DKK 16 mio. spent
on research activities undertaken by approx. 70 academic staff.
RSLIS is leading the way in its primary research area: Library and
Information Science, LIS. The Royal School of Library and
Information Science awards PhD degrees, and in June 2004, the first
doctoral thesis in LIS was defended.
